02Who can apply

Independently owned businesses based in the United States. The person applying must be 18 or older and be the owner or someone who makes decisions about the business's website.

Not eligible: current or past Diakon Media clients; Diakon Media team members and their households; franchise locations whose website is controlled by corporate; and hardscape or outdoor-living contractors, who have their own program.

03How to apply

Complete the online application during the dates above. One application per business. Diakon Media may open a future round to past applicants; if so, that round's rules will say so. Applying is free. No purchase, payment, or call is required to apply or to win, and talking to us or buying from us never changes an application's score.

04How the winner is picked

Winners are not chosen at random. Jack Sawyer and Tristen Darmodihardjo of Diakon Media review every complete, eligible application and score it on the business's need for a website, the difference a new website would make for the business, the applicant's readiness to start (the decision-maker is applying and can send a logo, photos and answers within 7 days; for Shopify, products, photos and descriptions are ready), and the story behind the application.

Ties go to the higher readiness score, then to the application completed first. If no eligible applications are received, no prize is awarded for the round.

05The prize

One free website build, approximate value $1,500: either a website of up to 10 pages, or a Shopify store of up to 15 products with photos and descriptions ready at kickoff.

If the project goes past those limits, or needs user logins (a marketplace, member area, or customer portal; Shopify's built-in customer accounts don't count), the winner chooses either a free build trimmed to the limits above, or $1,500 off the bigger build. The $1,500 off expires 48 hours after the scoping call.

Hosting is not included. The winner can take the site files at no charge, or choose Diakon Media hosting at $50 a month. A Shopify store runs on the winner's own Shopify plan. The prize can't be transferred or exchanged for cash.

06Notification and acceptance

We notify the winner by email by 9:00am Pacific Time on the pick date. The winner has 48 hours to accept by replying or booking a kickoff call. If we don't hear back, the next-highest score wins under the same 48-hour window. The winner agrees that Diakon Media may name the business and show the finished website in its marketing.

07$300 off for every applicant

Everyone who completes an eligible application gets $300 off a Diakon Media website or Shopify store build. The $300 applies when the build deposit is paid within 7 days of the date the application was submitted. After that, it expires.

Using the $300 doesn't affect your application or score. If you pay a deposit using the $300 and then win, we refund that deposit. One discount per build: the $300 doesn't combine with any other Diakon Media offer.

08Taxes

Any taxes on the prize are the winner's responsibility.

09Your information

We use application information to run the Website Grant and to contact you about it, as described in our Privacy Policy. We only text you if you opted in on the application; the SMS terms explain what that covers.

10Facebook

This program is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Meta. You are giving your information to Diakon Media LLC, not to Facebook or Meta. By applying, you release Facebook and Meta from any liability related to this program.

11General

Void where prohibited. Diakon Media may disqualify incomplete, ineligible, or misleading applications, and may change or cancel a round if something outside our control prevents it from running fairly. By applying, you agree to these rules and to our Terms & Conditions.
